2009 Bride's Choice Award

2009 Bride's Choice Awards presented by WeddingWire | Wedding Cakes, Wedding Venues, Wedding Photographers & More WeddingWire, the nation’s leading wedding technology company, just announced that Bob Adams Photography & Video has won the 2009 Bride’s Choice Awards™! In its inaugural year, the Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and honors vendors from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. That means Bob Adams Photography is one of the very best Photographers. Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews. “We are excited to launch this annual award program to honor high-performing vendors based solely on the experiences of our WeddingWire community,” according to Timothy Chi, WeddingWire’s Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s recipients have set the bar high, exhibiting excellent service and expertise in the wedding industry.” Bob Adams Photography & Video would like to thank our past clients for speaking on our behalf and helping us win the 2009 Bride’s Choice Award!

Stacy & Beau

We had the pleasure of doing Stacy & Beau engagement photos in the beautiful wine country of Temecula. We stopped by Falkner's Winery and then headed over to old town. What a neat couple. Even with Stacy having a slight cold she pull it all together. Here are a few photos from their engagement shoot.

Alyssa & James

I know I haven’t been current with this blog lately but hopefully this post will get me motivated. I had the honor of doing some maternity pictures for a very special lady, Alyssa and her husband James last Thursday. I’ve known Alyssa and her wonderful family for around thirteen years now. She is the kind of person that can make a room light up with smiles as she enters. Last March, Alyssa and James started out on their new adventure. They moved from Southern California to Atlanta GA looking for new employment opportunities. Shortly after arriving to Atlanta, Alyssa learned she was pregnant. The title of Alyssa’s blog “faith is more than believing” is so appropriate as to who Alyssa is and what she believes. I will continue to follow James and Alyssa’s journey to see what God has in store for this truly wonderful couple. God Bless.

Photography Class at the Grove

I have started a photography Class at the Grove. Lots of information and glazed eyes in our first one hour class. We had about 16 people attend which is more than I thought for the first day. I found it interesting the overwhelming majority were women. I guest I shouldn't have been surprised being it is women who take the time to take photos of their families, make scrap books and share their photos. I am so thankful for everyone who attended. We are already looking at extending from the four classes we have already scheduled. We will also be going out on a photo shoot which I am very excited about. I will be updating this post as we go along.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep

Last Monday morning I received a call from a nurse at a local hospital saying they had a young woman who had come in to deliver her little girl but the child had died.  I was asked if I would come in and photograph their last moments together.  I was called because I belong to an organization of photographers, NILMDTS (Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep) who freely give of their time and skills to help preserve the precious memories of those who have or will be soon losing their child.  This was my first time being called and I have often wondered if I would be mentally prepared for what I would encounter.  Being involved in preserving the memories of a passing child with their parents made my comfort level, rather trivial.  I immediately packed up my gear. When I arrived the nurse shared with me a few of the details so I would have a better understanding what they had gone through that morning.  As I entered the room I found the couple crying and staring at their little girl, Guadalupe, who was laying motionless in a bassinet right next to her mother's bed. I asked if they had any requests and shared with them what I would like to do and they agreed.  The father who was very emotional asked not to be photographed.  The nurse laid Guadalupe on her mother’s chest. I asked the mother to just spend some quite time with her child, and not pay any attention to me. What I tried to capture was them being alone and the closeness between a mother and child during a very difficult time.  Having the honor of capturing those precious moments is one of the most important and satisfying moments I’ve had as a photographer.

Janis & Ernie 8-10-08

Laguna Beach, Ca.  The Surf and Sand on the beach is a beautiful location for a wedding. The wedding was held on the balcony located one story above the beach giving everyone a spectacular view of the wedding, beach and Pacific ocean.  Doesn't get much better than that. Janis & Ernie's wedding will be one to remember, surrounded by family and friends on an absolutely beautiful day.

The Wedding Day

Paul & DeAnne, 8-8-08

Victorville, Ca.  It was a warm one in Victorville.  Especially since the air conditioning didn't kick in until 6:00 PM.  It turned out to be a great day for their wedding.  The decorations and the ambiance for DeAnne and Paul's wedding were done by Pauline from Elegant Illusions. What a transformation. DeAnne will be leaving for Texas for some military training soon and we wish Paul, DeAnne and the kids the best.  To view the slideshow in a larger format please go to www.4ydm.com

Jennifer & Cristóbal Wedding

Last Saturday Cathy, Jon and I had the privilege of doing both Photography and Video for Jennifer & Cristóbal's wedding.  What an event, which would not have been possible without all the support by family and friends.  Great job done by all.

The planning of the wedding was a little unusual.  With Jennifer and Cristóbal living in Spain most of the wedding plans between Pam and Jennifer & Cristóbal were done over the internet and by phone.  The wedding plans would have not been complete without the trip over to spain for Pam and friends.  Tough duty but someone had to do it.

The Wedding was held at Kimberly Crest in Redlands.  Beautiful location for a weddings. Katherine, the wedding coordinator at Kimberly Crest, made the planning and event very enjoyable.  Highly recommend.

The reception was held at Pam and John's.  Getting their beautiful home ready was a major under taking. Many hours were spent in preparation for the wedding reception by a whole lot of family and friends.  It was all worth it. In September all the brides family will be going to Spain for the second of the two weddings

It was great to meet all of Pam and John's (big) family and special Thanks to all of you who came in from Spain.  I know the language was a little tough at times but having you all there was appreciated by everyone.

Jennifer & Cristóbal are truly blessed with family and friends.
